We will be looking at movies and TV shows so awful, insulting, or plain unusual that we're astonished they ever saw the light of day. Please share your thoughts on the weirdest anime you've ever seen in the comments section as we count down our picks for the top 10 anime we can't believe got made for this list.

10. Hey President Trapcon

The best approach to improving relations between nations in the middle of a worldwide uprising is undoubtedly to enroll the US president in a Japanese high school. Still, the egotistical tracker, who obviously has no connection to any real people, chooses to teach them about himself by rapping; suffice it to say that he lacks Hamilton's crass comedy. Although this fever-dream parody only generated two episodes and is as thinly written as the protagonist's hair, the eclectic approach unquestionably outshines others in terms of pure creativity. Cringe-inducing tunes and biting comments make it plain that the program is laughing at him, not with him.

9. Cockroach Girls

Be advised that, as its name implies, what you see is what you get if you discover this insectoid series creeping around your anime watch list. It's really about a girl who is a cockroach; the episodes are lighthearted, unoffensive filler about the extroverted gokicha who wants to befriend humans. It's not impossible to enjoy, but the dreadfully straightforward approach means its long-lasting appeal isn't quite as durable as its main character. While there is some charm in its simplicity, the lack of variation sprays the later episodes with enough insecticide to repel all but the most ardent of fans.

8. Onarakuro

Although he is the self-proclaimed most admirable of thoughts, this tutor, the hero, creates wind and new ground for imaginative protagonists. The vaporous goro isn't just any ordinary passing gas. He provides good morality and anatomy lectures to his students, which is the only way someone like him can properly address everyday problems. However, it could be challenging to take sentient backgrounds seriously. For those who can handle the stench, Garrow does spill a few real pearls of wisdom. It lasted for a full 13 episodes, and we're honestly just astonished they were able to extract so much out of this offensive idea.

7. Inferno Cop

The high-speed tales of this cop car are absurd enough without even trying. He is a cop with a flame-topped head, according to the title. What's not to love? The series follows a former police officer on a vengeful quest to bring down the evil Southern Cross gang, but the classic revenge formula is quickly thrown out the window; the ludicrous plotlines pit him against evil babies, send him to hell, and even give him godlike powers. Executed with plenty of knowing wits and an exceptional comic-inspired art style, this crazy ride revs through its zany, entertaining narrative with.

 6. Akikan

The concept of Akikan, a show about a teenage kangaroo whose melon drink unexpectedly transforms into a human girl with the abilities and color schemes of a soda can, scrapes the bottom of the recycling bin. While the show's absolutely bonkers introduction is insane enough, that's not even where the plot gets fizzy; the main plot involves the anthropomorphic drinks competing to win.

5. Platinum End

A brand-new manga from the creators of Death Notes seems like a sure thing, but its run on the page drew harsh criticism for its lack of originality and excessively indulgent moral lessons. It follows the dejected Mirai, who gains powers from a guardian angel and ends up in a deadly competition to determine the next god. While that sounds entertaining enough, in practice, it's a plodding mashup of better titles that feigns moral depth at.

4. Seiko Boys

The popular boy band The Rockies is Miki's first assignment at her new job, but she quickly realizes that their name is more than just a play on words. This idol group is rock solid in more ways than one. In spite of its rocky premise, those who persevere will find this series sweeping them by landslides. The humor is finally sculpted through absurd scenarios where no one but Miki questions how four statues can talk, much less become pop culture icons; the persistent visual gags never outstay their welcome; and the novel, if on-the-nose, portrayal of an idol's life keeps this statue show from feeling hollow.

3. Henkei Shojo

Even the most unusual anime at least have some form of a plot, a character, and a subject, but this bizarre Mecca series chose to disregard all storytelling conventions. The specifications for this are as basic as they come. The episodes are barely a minute long, and without any consistent rising action or accurate characterization, it ends up feeling more like a proof of concept than anything resembling a narrative. Despite this, it's not at all bad. It's just about cute, short girls who turn into different machines, rinse, and repeat. However, aside from the occasional joke, it lacks any real content, leaving it without a clear purpose.

 2. Saint Young Men

The strangest aspect of this dubious setup is how surprisingly enjoyable it is to take a literal, down-to-earth approach with its characters; this series follows Jesus Christ and Buddha as they travel to Tokyo to learn more about modern society. The out-of-water comedy works wonders thanks to its well-known leads, mainly because it develops into a genuinely endearing bromance between the two.

1. Unko Sun

The most impressive thing about this show is that by the end of the first episode, a luck-granting brown fairy isn't even the wackiest element; the unfortunate-shaped unconcern wants to erase the problems of the people of Luck Island, but the show immediately flushes any predictability down the toilet. The bizarre scenarios progress from stealing to pay for medical care to jumping off a cliff in shame to being saved by a sentient clam; it's so out-of-control that it.
